(my daughter was called Rii-chan during her stay in Japan).
This project was born after hours spent discussing the world, the meaning of life, society, the climate, etc., with my daughter. Like a mirror amplifying her reflection, she would respond with ready-made sentences, not without irony, such as “It was better before,” “Kids these days,” etc. These sentences, which I had heard millions of times in my youth, reminded me of the obvious fact that, ultimately, nothing changes except the setting. So please find here a few pieces reflecting our exchanges of thoughts that I had to write in English because Madison, the singer, doesn’t sing in French.
In this modern world, to compensate for my limited English skills, I was able to use AI (Artificial Intelligence) services to check the syntactic coherence and grammar of the texts written using dictionaries and other electronic tools. In no case did the AI compose the music or write the texts. Emmanuelle E. C. helped me to maintain concordance and consistency in English by proofreading the texts and suggesting changes.
Please see this project as a tribute to the exchanges between parents and children (who have become young adults), highlighting that we have listened to their fears and that we understand their questions, which were once ours.
(*) Madison is a synthetic voice created by Emvoice, known for its realism. She is often called a “virtual singer” and is used in the Emvoice One plugin for musical composition.
