You are probably referring to an addon that we created for one of our sites. It doesn't use the webpages feature at all. The addon registers a URL with Hubzilla and then uses a PDL to define the layout and a TPL to serve the HTML.

Add-ons like this can get complicated. I'll see if I can come up with a simplified example.

But we're currently hard coding the HTML in the addon instead of making it editable in the user interface.

You have to create an addon. The best way to start is to make a copy of Exampleaddon and modify it. You must know PHP to get it to work.

The Steps:

Let's say that you wanted the URL example.com/something

Make a copy of our Exampleaddon addon.

Everywhere is says Exampleaddon you need to change to it to Something and everywhere is says exampleaddon you need to change to it to something. Capitalization matters. This includes the files names, the folder name, and any mention of Exampleaddon or exampleaddon within the code, etc.

Then you would edit something.tpl and add your HTML. If you want to get fancy, you can pass variables to the template file.

The more PHP you know, the more functionality you can add.

Maybe in the future we can create a better way add URLs, but for now, this is how you do it.

i gave it a try... somehow it does not work for me...
can´t even activate the addon :-(
